Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of safe working procedures in an industrial workplace and conduct successfully an appropriate risk assessment to recommend relevant and appropriate risk minimisation procedures
1. You must first research Health and Safety legislation and regulation, specifically the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the relevance to Risk Assessment of Hazards. Outline several (minimum of 3) regulations such as PUWER 1998, COSHH 2002, WORK AT HEIGHT 2005, (not exhaustive) using Harvard referencing.
2. Look for areas of good practice in terms of Health and Safety. This could be safe systems of work, permits, Safety signs, notices, use of PPE etc. Identify 5 aspects and then relate back to the relevant regulation. A Also, identify any potential hazards and using a standard risk assessment sheet, detail what steps would be taken to minimise the risk and make it safe.
3. The assignment will need to be approximately 1,500 words in length. Any graphs or calculations should be scanned and attached to word document. Use 1.5 line spacing and either Arial or Calibri fonts. Harvard referencing is a must for the research part of the assignment.
